'Why Do Fools Fall in Love?' Musical opens tonight on The Barn stage in Willmar
WILLMAR — The Barn Theatre presents "Why Do Fools Fall in Love?" at 7:30 p.m. today through Saturday and Feb. 15-17 and 22-24 with 2 p.m. matinees on Sundays, Feb. 11, 18 and 25.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students and are available by calling the box office at 320-235-9500 or online at www.thebarntheatre.com. The Barn Theatre is at 321 Fourth St. S.W. in downtown Willmar.
The musical is about Millie, played by Andrea Limoges, who is getting married.
Three of her girlfriends — boy-crazy Sally, played by Aubrey Ross; very shy Florence, played by Ashleigh Cola; and young tag-along Dee Dee, played by Maria Novak — throw her a bachelorette party.
The girls end up sharing more than a great time — after tequila shots and "Snowball" sugar highs, they dive into the age-old questions about love, marriage and the overwhelming dating game.
It features classic 1960s songs like, "My Boy Lollipop," "I Will Follow Him," and "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me."
Pauline Prawl is the director, choreographer and costumer. Heidi Ahmann is the vocal assistant.
Evie Bartlett is the stage manager and Bob Thompson is the sound technician.
Patrick Gilmore is the lighting technician, mentored by Matt Hegdahl.
The set was designed and constructed by Steve Ahmann and Bill Prawl.
