Patricia A. Hanson

Patricia Hanson, age 61, of Willmar, died Monday, March 13, at the Saint Cloud Hospital.

Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

Patricia Ann Hanson was born March 23, 1955, in Morris, Minnesota, the daughter of Carl and Eileen (Halvorson) Stettner. She grew up and received her education in Morris, graduating from Morris High School. She obtained her LPN degree from the Willmar Vo-Tech. In June 1976, she married Howard Hanson and they made their home in Willmar. Two sons, Scott and Jeffrey, were born to their marriage. They later divorced and Patricia lived in several areas of the country. She returned to Willmar in 2009 and was worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Bethesda Heritage Center and most recently at Rice Memorial Hospital.

She was a former member Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar, where she taught Sunday School. Patricia loved animals, especially dogs and horses. She enjoyed walking her many dogs and volunteering at the Hawk Creek Animal Shelter. She was extremely generous to others and was like a second mother to many of Jeff's friends.

She is survived by her son, Jeff Hanson of Willmar; her ex-husband, Howard Hanson of Willmar; a brother, Gary (and Sharon) Stettner of Florida; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Stettner; her mother, Eileen Messner; her stepfather, Ray Messner; and a son, Scott Hanson in infancy.
