Donald "Butch" Gable

Donald "Butch" L. Gable, age 74, of Willmar, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 27, at the Clara City Care Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3, at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Willmar American Legion Post #167. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 2, at the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. www.petersonbrothers.com

Donald "Butch" Lloyd Gable was born on April 1, 1943, in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Harold and Mildred (Forcier) Gable. He grew up in the Spicer area and graduated from Atwater High School in 1961. Butch served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1965. He moved with his family to the Lake Lillian area in 1966. He was employed for many years in retail sales starting with Goldfines and retiring from K-Mart. His hobbies included fishing, go-kart racing, and deer hunting. He enjoyed fantasy football, coffee with friends and being at grandpa Gable's farm as a child. Butch cherished his nieces and nephews and time spent with family and friends.

He is survived by five siblings, Rita (Harlan) Gable Broers of Clara City, Bob (Bernadette) Fuchs of Pennock, Susan (Jim) Lee of Winfield, IA., Gary (Judy) Fuchs of Atwater and Laurie (Bill) Miller of Pennock; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, besides other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Lawrence Fuchs and one sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn and Earl Eisenbacher.
