Editorial: Arnold’s starts another recovery
It was a tough night Thursday for the owners, employees and customers of Arnold’s of Willmar.
The local Case IH farm equipment dealership suffered fire and smoke damage after a fire broke out about 8:23 p.m. Thursday.
Fortunately no one was in the building at the time of the fire. And no firefighters were injured in controlling and extinguishing the fire.
Still this fire is a tough one for the Willmar business. The dealership’s staff watched from a distance Thursday as firefighters battled the fire.
It was nearly five years to the month since an EF3 tornado blew across the south end of Willmar, damaging equipment and the building at the Arnold’s dealership.
Friends, customers and businesses showed up Friday morning offering to help, said store manager Kraig DeJong.
That is the Willmar way.
DeJong reported Friday that the implement dealer was open for “very limited” business.
Best of luck to Arnold’s and its staff as the business begins a second rebuilding process in five years.
