Girls Soccer: Scoreless streak stretches to 3 matches for Willmar

FERGUS FALLS — For the third straight match, the Willmar Cardinals were unable to score.

While the first two times ended in 0-0 ties, Fergus Falls outkicked the Cardinals 5-0 and 15-5 on shots-on-goal Tuesday.

“Their defensive alignment with a stopper and a sweeper gave us trouble,” said Willmar coach Chelsea Brown. “We’ve got to work on our crossing passes and crashing the net.”

Willmar only had midfielder Hannah Johnson for a small portion of the match and defender Hannah Schirm’s minutes were also limited by illness.

The Cardinals are in St. Cloud on Thursday to play the Tech Tigers at 7 p.m.
