Prep Football: Willmar's potent offense too much for Alex

ALEXANDRIA -- The Willmar Cardinals football team blew out Alexandria 55-21 on Saturday, an impressive road win that leaves the Cards tied for the Central Lakes Conference South lead.

The Cardinals surpassed 42 points for the fourth time in five games and improved to 4-1 overall. They are 2-0, tied with St. Cloud Apollo and St. Cloud Tech, in the CLC South Division.

The Cardinals' 39.0 points per game is second best in the entire CLC and their defense is allowing 15.8 points per game, third best in the conference.

Willmar plays its Homecoming game against St. Cloud Apollo at 7 p.m. Friday at Hodapp Field.
