Prep Baseball: Nietfeld, Deadrick trigger Paynesville win over Monte

PAYNESVILLE -- Nathan Nietfeld tossed a one-hitter and Jake Deadrick went 3-for-3 and drove in five runs as Paynesville drubbed Montevideo 11-1 in a West Central South Conference game on Tuesday.

Deadrick drove in two runs in the first inning with a single, singled in a run in the third and doubled home two runs in the fourth to help the Bulldogs (2-0, 2-1) invoke the 10-run rule after five innings.

Eric Wolbeck and Shane Kampsen had two hits apiece for Paynesville.

Andy Schultz broke up Nietfeld's no-hitter with a two-out single in the fourth.

BOLD exploded for 15 hits, including four doubles, in its opener.

Shawn Dollerschell led the way for the Warriors with four hits, three runs scored and an RBI. Alex Gay also went 2-for-4 and drove in four runs.

Dylan Gass went the distance for the win, allowing seven hits. He walked none and struck out seven.

ACGC's Travis Frederiksen was 2-for-2 and drove in two runs. Losing pitcher Jordan Tanner also had two hits.

Dustin Sauter's double to left-center field drove in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh for the Tigers (1-0, 1-0), who scored four runs in the inning.

Tyler Hansen hit a two-run single earlier in the frame and Chris Boettcher drove in the other run. Nate Gades clubbed a two-run home run in the first inning and Sauter hit a solo homer in the fifth.

The Lakers (1-2, 1-2) took an 8-5 lead in the top of the seventh after Ryan Kleven hit a two-run homer.
