Prep Baseball: LQPV, Paynesville split; YME turns back Monte

MADISON -- Lac qui Parle Valley and Paynesville split a pair of lopsided games in West Central South baseball on Thursday.

LQPV won the opener 9-3 and Paynesville prevailed 10-0 in six innings in the finale.

Eric Paulson, Tronn Tosel and Baxter DuFrane each drove in a pair of runs and Stephen Enger went 2-for-2 for the Eagles, who led 7-0 after three innings.

Derek Dyrdahl singled in two runs in the third and another in the sixth as the Sting made the most of their opportunities while outhit by Montevideo (0-3, 0-4) eight to three.

Starter Dylan Lindstrom got the win and Austin Cole provided three innings of scoreless relief for the save.

Mitch Christensen and Troy Hendrickson each had two hits. Hendrickson took the loss.
