Prep Baseball: Whittemore, Minnewaska turn back Montevideo, 6-0

GLENWOOD -- Minnewaska's Mike Whittemore had a perfect game going through the first five innings, then settled for a 6-0 shutout victory over Montevideo Monday in West Central South Conference baseball action.

Whittemore retired the first 15 batters he faced, striking out seven and recording three infield assists. He finished with 10 strikeouts and two walks.

Trenton Berg went 2-for-4 with a double to lead the Lakers (6-7, 7-9). Kevin Jenks and Cory Jackson drove in one run each.

Christian Brabender and Joe Bednar each singled for the Thunder Hawks (3-9, 4-11).
