Amateur Baseball: Sacred Heart tops Raymond

SACRED HEART -- Jeremy Hinderks pitched a complete game to lead Sacred Heart to a 6-2 win over Raymond in the Cornbelt North amateur baseball opener for both teams Friday.

Hinderks scattered seven hits and gave up two runs. He struck out 15 and walked one.

The Rockets scored twice in the sixth and the Saints (1-0, 2-2) responded with one run in the bottom of the inning.

Sacred Heart exploded for five runs in the eighth, highlighted by Jeremy Hinderks' two-run double and an RBI single from Jeff Hinderks.

Jeremy Hinderks, Ryan Hebrink and Mike Kuschel had two hits each.

Kyle Knott had an RBI double and Jordan Smith collected two hits to lead Raymond.
