Amateur Baseball: Kilowatts jolt Twins, 7-1

SPICER -- It was a good night for baseball but a tough night for the New London-Spicer Twins in Cornbelt League inter-division play.

The Granite Falls Kilowatts took a quick 5-0 lead and went on to punish the Twins 7-1 at Green Lake Diamond on Wednesday.

In a strong outing, Tyler Kanten went the distance for the Kilowatts. He allowed five hits, walked one and fanned 10.

Tyler Flattum launched the Kilowatts' offense with a two-run homer in the top of the first. It drove in Jake Suter, who was on with the first of his three hits.

Granite Falls followed with three more runs in the second off Ben Kulset. None were earned, however, as the Twins committed three of their five errors in the inning.

The only life the Twins' offense showed facing Kanten was in the second when Jeremy Dirksen and Jack Hartley doubled back-to-back for NLS' lone score.

The Kilowatts finished with 11 hits, ten off Kulset.
