Legion Baseball: Bulthuis, Prinsburg end season shutting out Cottonwood

PRINSBURG — Austin Bulthuis hurled a five-hit shutout that featured three strikeouts and just one walk to help the Prinsburg Orioles end their season by beating Cottonwood 2-0 Thursday.

The game was scoreless for 5½ innings before Sam Ohden and Nick Daugherty hit back-to-back doubles and Bulthuis followed with a sacrifice fly to right-center to give Prinsburg (7-4) a 2-0 lead. Daugherty singled in his first two at bats to account for half of the Orioles’ six hits.

Prinsburg threatened to score an inning earlier, but Cottonwood starter Randy Louwagie notched his fifth strikeout after giving up consecutive two-out singles to Noah Wubben and Tanner Stoel.
