Chokio-Alberta, Morris to pair for most sports next season

MORRIS -- The Morris Area school board approved recently a request from Chokio-Alberta High School to pair all of its sports programs but football with the Tigers starting this fall for the 2010-11 school year.

The two school districts have been paired for girls basketball since 1994 and this year marked the first season the boys basketball and wrestling programs have come together. Morris and Hancock had already been together two years for wrestling.

Beginning in the next school year Morris Area and Chokio-Alberta will be paired for volleyball, baseball, boys and girls golf, softball, and boys and girls track and field, along with boys and girls basketball and wrestling.

Chokio-Alberta will continue to have a partnership with Herman-Norcross for football.

Chokio-Alberta went to Morris after Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley and Hancock both rejected partnering with the Spartans.
