GRANITE FALLS -- Jake Douglas scored all 19 of his points in the second half to lead Montevideo to a 66-57 win over Lac qui Parle Valley on Thursday in Section 3AA-North boys basketball action.

The Thunder Hawks (21-4) advance to meet Redwood Valley at 8 p.m. Saturday at Southwest Minnesota State in Marshall. The Cardinals tipped Tracy-Milroy-Balaton 56-41.

After a quiet first half, Douglas scored his team's first nine points out of the locker room to expand a 10-point halftime lead to 43-29.

Montevideo stretched that to 55-34 midway through the second half.

But the Eagles chipped the lead down to 66-57, on a three-pointer by Dylan Erickson with just over three minutes left on the clock.

The Thunder Hawks responded with a seven-point run, mostly at the line, to build the cushion back to 18.

Douglas led four Hawks in double figures: Brett Bergeson sank three 3s on the way to 17 points. Jacoby Johnson added 13, Colton Vien 11 and the fifth starter Ryan Boike finished with nine.

Eric Paulson finished with 18 points for LQPV. He scored 15 of those in the second half and sank four 3s. Jacob Redepenning added 13 and Zach Moen 12.

The double-header attracted a packed house to the YME gym. Both bleachers were full by the halfway mark of the second half of the first game.
