Girls Basketball: Pelican Rapids fights off MACCRAY
Tribune Staff Report
PELICAN RAPIDS -- MACCRAY recovered from an 11-point halftime deficit but couldn't come up with the game-winning shot in the final minutes against Pelican Rapids and lost 46-45 in the championship game of the Minnesota National Bank Classic on Wednesday.
The Wolverines trailed 30-19 at halftime but recovered and tied the game late in the second half, said head coach Dale Petersen.
"We had a chance to go ahead but we just couldn't get shots to fall," said Peterson, who's team reach the title game with a win over Underwood on Tuesday. "We don't like moral victories but it was nice to play well in a tournament like this, on their (Pelican Rapids') home floor."
More details from the game will be available in Friday's Tribune.
