College Wrestling: Warriors clip Rochester

KERKHOVEN -- A five-match winning streak from 133-165 propelled the Ridgewater Warriors past the Rochester Yellowjackets 25-12 in a MCAC dual Tuesday at the Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg High School.

Rochester got the first points with a 4-3 decision at 125 pounds, but the Warriors then had Javier Portillo get a pin at 133, Mariano Portillo get a major decision at 141, Klinton Van Heulven earn a decision at 140, Shane Fesenmaier pick up a pin at 157 and Tyrell Martin win a decision at 165 to take a 22-3 lead.

Kevin Hahn later added a decision at 184 for the Warriors, who are in Grand Rapids on Thursday to take on Itasca for another MCAC dual.

Rochester's 12 points came from four decisions at 125, 174, 197 and heavyweight.
