College Wrestling: Warriors crush Itasca

GRAND RAPIDS -- Three pins and a couple of major decisions fueled Ridgewater to a 41-6 win over Itasca Thursday in a MCAC dual.

The Warriors forfeited at 125 before winning the remaining nine matches.

Javier Portillo at 133 and Mariano Portillo at 141 started the run with major decisions before Klinton Van Heuveln needed just 12 seconds to pin Matt Dunlap at 149.

Tyrell Martin at 165 and heavyweight Charlie Gelhaye added pins for Ridgewater, which also got decisions from Shane Fesenmaier at 157, Kevin Hahn at 184 and Matt Marketon at 197.

The Warriors are off the next eight days before competing in the North Country Open hosted by Saint John's University on Feb. 4.
