College Softball: Krause sparks Ridgewater's sweep of Anoka-Ramsey

WILLMAR -- Ridgewater rolled to two more wins Saturday as the Lady Warriors swept MCAC Southern Division rival Anoka-Ramsey 6-2 and 14-1 (5 innings) in their home opener.

Andrea Krause was 3-for-3 in each game and finished with five doubles to help Ridgewater (4-0, 10-5) collect 29 hits in the doubleheader. The sophomore from Bloomington also stuck out 10 in a complete-game victory in the opener.

Ridgewater travels to Worthington on Tuesday to face Minnesota West in another division doubleheader that starts at 3 p.m.

Andrea Krause, Brooke Carlson and Brittney Nissen each had three hits in the 17-hit attack for Ridgewater. Brenna Holwerda and Yvonne Wani added two hits each to give Nissen more than enough support in her complete-game win in the pitcher's circle. Nissen allowed just two singles while striking out three and walking four.

Krause knocked in three runs with Carlson and Holwerda driving in two more each. Kari Shipman added a triple and Jenna Kincade a double for the Lady Warriors.
