Boys Tennis: Tech too much for Cards

Tribune Staff Report

WILLMAR -- Shane Christensen and Sam Murphy won in straight sets at 1-doubles for Willmar, but St. Cloud Tech won the other six matches to go home with a 6-1 Central Lakes Conference win Monday.

The Tigers nearly won all of their matches in straight sets, but Preston Petersen prevented that as the Willmar junior won 6-4 in the second set at 1-singles.

Christensen and Murphy needed to win a tie-breaker (7-4) in the second set after beating Sam Eggers/Dan Schnettler 6-1 in the opener.

Willmar returns to the court on Thursday when it hosts Brainerd in another CLC match.
