Prep softball roundup: One swing sinks Willmar

ST. CLOUD -- Tigers' senior Jenna Bautch blasted a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth to account for all the St. Cloud Tech scoring and provide the margin for her sophomore sister Jaclyn to emerge as the winning pitcher in a 3-2 game with Willmar on Tuesday.

The Cardinals' freshman Leah Ruter took the loss. She allowed just three other hits, walked only one and fanned five. She's pitched a doubleheader the day before at Alexandria.

Willmar scored single runs in the third and the seventh. Sarah Roehl singled in Kassy Linbo, who had reached on an error.

Jordan Martins doubled and scored on a dropped third strike when the catcher threw to first.

Willmar gets back home for a game at the high-school field vs. Sartell on Thursday.

Sarah Zaiser drove home Nicole Jurgenson with the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning of Dawson-Boyd's first game against Minneota/Canby/Lincoln HI on Tuesday.

Jurgenson had two hits and Amber Borstad and Justine Flattum both hit doubles for the Blackjacks.

Sadie Zaiser picked up the win, allowing no earned runs and four hits while striking out eight.

The Blackjacks are 9-4 and play at Lakeview at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in Cottonwood.

OLIVIA -- The base paths may have turned in ruts after this game -- a total of 20 hits, 19 bases on balls and a half dozen errors produced 27 runs as Montevideo outscored BOLD 16-11 on Tuesday in West Central South fastpitch.

Ten runners crossed home plate in the seventh inning alone.

Monte scored in every inning but the third and never trailed. The Hawks went up 16-7 with a six-run barrage in the top of the seventh.

For the winners, Dani Emkes supplied three hits, Ashley Hoehne and Jessica Janisch a pair each and Kelsey Quigley hit a solo home run.

BOLD's 11-hit day was led by Raquel Amberg, Bailey Elbert and Paige Larsen with two hits each. Larsen triple and singled driving in five runs. Rae Larsen doubled and drove in 3 runs.

Kiersti Grey went seven for the win; she walked seven and struck out nine.
