NORTH MANKATO -- The bats finally came around for the KMS softball team, just in time for the Saints to win the Class A Consolation Championship on Friday.

Courtney Olson set the state tournament RBI record and the Saints had two home runs and two doubles among their 13 hits in a 7-1 win over Red Lake Falls on Friday.

On Thursday, the Saints whipped up on Sebeka 15-7 in the consolation semis after falling 3-2 to Cherry in Thursday's opening round.

Against Red Lake Falls, KMS' Courtney Olson had two runs batted in to go along with the six RBIs she had against Sebeka. Olson's eight RBIs set a new state tournament record.

Olson hit a home run against Sebeka and Ellen Johnson and Sam Dunn both hit homers against Red Lake Falls.

Dunn had three hits and Erin Haglund, Olson and Brielle Hauge all had two hits in the title game.

Haglund worked all three games in the tournament, and on Friday she allowed just three hits and an unearned run while striking out six.
