Legion baseball: Hector clips Tri-Town 4-3

Hector's No. 2 hitter Josh Swanson follows the flight of his line drive deep to left field where Tri-Town's Lucas Damm robbed him of an extra-base hit in the third inning Monday at Atwater. The open-air dugout at Kingery Field is the result of the June 17 storm that tore through the south side of Atwater.

ATWATER -- After being shut out the first five innings of the game, Hector scored two runs in the sixth and seventh innings to beat Tri-Town 4-3 on Monday.

Tate Lange and Dylan Kalenberg lead the Hector bats with each having one hit and two RBIs.

Ben Maiers got the win, going five innings, giving up three hits, three runs, while striking out five.

Maiers was 2-for-4 and Cale Olinger had three hits for Hector.

Dylan Hoerchler and Jordan P. Nelson each had a hit and an RBI for Tri-Town.

Nelson started for Tri-Town and went the distance in the loss, allowing four runs on 10 hits and striking out six.
