Amateur baseball roundup: Sacred Heart pounds Brownton

Jeremy Hindirks hit a three-run home run in the first, and Dakota Freiborg hit a two-run home run in the third as Sacred Heart hammered out 19 hits in seven innings.

Brownton tried to stymie Sacred Heart pitcher Matt Koenen, as Brownton had runners on first, and third, twice in the game, but got just one run out of it. Koenen pitched a complete game while striking out five.

Brownton pitcher Michael Hahan, took the loss, allowing 12 runs in three innings of work.

Freiborg had six runs batted in, and Ryan Hebrink and Hindriks each added three RBIs.

The Saints plays 2 p.m. Saturday against Marshall in Sacred Heart.

The Chuckers pounded out 13 hits to support the 4-hit pitching of Brian Kingery, who went the distance.

Kingery singled in the game's first run in the lower half of the fourth, then scored on Justin Schroeder's 2-run double during a 4-run inning.

Josh Cunningham went 4-for-5 and Matt Lilleberg's 2 hits knocked in a pair of runs.

Kingery walked 3 and fanned 5; both Spring Hill runs in the eighth were unearned.

The Chuckers (16-6) return to County Line action on Sunday at Starbuck.

Tyler Horning and Mike Danielson led off the fourth inning for New London-Spicer with back-to-back home runs, and the Twins went on to beat Luxemburg 7-5 on Friday.

Kevin Soine and Jake Rambow also had RBI hits for the Twins. Greg Terries, and Mitch Ergen led Luxemburg with a double each.

Chris Kunaw pitched four innings, taking the loss for Luxemburg, giving up five runs, and striking out two. NLS pitcher Ben Kulsted went 8-2/3 innings, giving up five runs while striking out five.
