College volleyball: Ridgewater blanks Riverland

WILLMAR -- The Ridgewater Warriors opened the second half of the season with an 25-15, 25-12, 26-24 MCAC win over Riverland on Saturday.

Kelsey Stommes and Brittany Nissen powered the Warrior offense with 18 combined kills.

Stommes added 3 ace blocks, and Cassie Ziemer tacked on 3 kills and 2 service aces.

"Our offense was successful and we were able to come back in the third set after facing nine set points," Ridgewater head coach Joe Sussenguth said.

The Warriors next travel to Wahpeton, N.D., for the North Dakota State College of Science Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
