‘Jumpers for Jenna’ aids Willmar fifth-grade player fighting brain tumor

The Willmar basketball programs, boosters and area businesses are joining forces to help a Willmar fifth-grade player and her family.

Jenna Reynolds will have surgery to remove a brain tumor on Thursday at the Mayo Clinic. Reynolds was suffering from vision problems at a practice last week and after recurring problems over the weekend, the tumor was found.

To help the family with lodging and meals for a couple weeks in Rochester, the Cardinals and boosters got to work to raise funds.

The varsity girls players created a “Jumpers for Jenna” T-shirt design and the shirts were donated free by Hansen Advertising. They will be sold for $20, with proceeds going to the Reynolds family.

Area businesses also are sponsoring a Jumpers for Jenna fundraiser during the Cardinals girls’ Section 5AAA semifinals game against Zimmerman at 6 p.m. today in Buffalo.

Businesses such as Marcus Construction, Lange Ag Systems and CDS Accounting will each donate $50 for each made basket.

The program and boosters are seeking more businesses to get involved.

A Caring Bridge page for Jenna has been set up at www.caringbridge.org.
