WILLMAR - Last-inning runs propelled the Ridgewater baseball team to two MCAC playoff wins over Northland on Friday at Bill Taunton Stadium and into next week's Region 13 playoffs.

Ridgewater scored three runs in the top of the seventh to defeat Northland 11-10 in the clinching second game.

In Game One, the Warriors scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh and took the opener 6-5.

In the second game, Noah Harried singled in two runs and Kenneth Cruz singled home Harried to give the Warriors an 11-8 lead heading into Northland's final at bat.

Northland scored twice but the Warriors turned a double play to end the game.

Cruz had a splendid game, going 5-for-5 with three runs batted in and three runs scored.

Archy Olson had two hits, including a double, and drove in a pair and Harried was 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Jean Carlos Morales doubled and scored two runs.

In Game One, Ridgewater trailed 5-2 entering the bottom of the seventh inning. But Joseann Rios led off with a walk, Austin Green singled and Morales doubled in a run.

Zack Nelson reached on an error and two runs scored, then scored the winning run on Olson's bases-loaded single.

Tommy Blackstone hit a triple and struck out five Willmar batters over four innings to help guide Monticello to a win.

The Cardinals were held to five hits in the game including a pair from Dalton Rambow. Austin Boller also added a double.

New London-Spicer scored five runs in the fifth inning and Matt Spaulding pitched a complete game to earn a win against Paynesville in a rematch of last year's Section 3AA final.

The Wildcat offense started strong with a run in the first inning to set the tone and logged 11 hits on the afternoon. Spaulding went 2-for-3 at the plate with a triple and two RBIs to help his effort on the mound.

Paynesville's Sam Haines also went 2-for-3 with a double but the Bulldogs were unable to mount any prolonged offense.

Jordan Sagedahl and Reed Stadther both hit two-run singles with two outs in the eighth inning to lead BOLD to a West Central Conference win over the Dutchmen on Friday in Melrose.

The teams were tied at 1-1 through six, and Melrose countered BOLD's seventh inning run to force the extra frame.

Stadther was 4-for-5 and drove in three runs and Luke Ryan had a triple among his three hits and he drove in three runs.

John Kiehn doubled and drove in three runs and Sam Tibbits tripled and drove in two runs as Litchfield won over Dassel-Cokato on the road Friday.

Max Tibbits and Riley DeWolf both had hits and RBIs and Tyler Sangren was 3-for-4 and scored a run. Andrew Loch worked a complete game to get the win.

The Dragons play host to ACGC at 4:30 p.m. Monday at Optimist Park.

Dawson-Boyd held off a seventh inning rally from KMS and added timely hitting of their own to get the win Friday afternoon.

Alex Swenson and Braden Thompson each hit triples for the Blackjacks in an extra-base hit friendly game. Swenson pitched the final four innings to earn the win as well .
