NLS' White commits to Bemidji State

Wyatt White, a senior at New London-Spicer, verbally committed Nov. 19 to play baseball at Bemidji State University.

During the 2016 season, batted .419 with 22 runs batted in, helping the Wildcats reach the Section 3AA championship game.

White was a first-team 2016 Wright County All-Conference selection, first team 2016 West Central Tribune All-Area selection, and also was selected to the 2016 All-Section 3AA team.

Ridgewater falls to Itasca

Ridgewater's wrestling team won three matches but lost its dual match against Itasca Community College 36-13 on Tuesday afternoon in Grand Rapids.

Keinnan Thacker was one of the Warrior winners, pinned Itasca's Terrance Bailey 1:43 into his 133-pound match to earn the team's first win of the dual. Leo Kerfeld also won with a 10-0 major decision over Hunter Noor at 149 pounds. Nathan Hellman was the final Warrior victor, defeating Teddy Dehler 11-4 at 197 pounds.

The Warriors were forced to forfeit a pair of matches and there was a double forfeit at 174 pounds as well. Tyler Votova, who would have wrestled at 141 pounds, has been nursing a shoulder injury.

Ridgewater will wrestle again on Dec. 4 in Moorhead at the Moorhead Open.
