Women's basketball: Fragodt, Auch help UMM to 4th straight regular-season title

Abby Fragodt and Emily Auch, both of Benson, were key members of the University of Minnesota, Morris women’s basketball team, which won its fourth-straight Upper Midwest Athletic Conference regular-season title during the 2012-2013 season.

In addition, Fragodt earned three postseason honors. She was named to the 17-member All-UMAC team, the five-player UMAC All-Defensive team, and the eight-player Sportsmanship Team, which includes one from each UMAC team and is selected by teammates.

Two UMM teammates earned placement on the All-UMAC first team, including UMAC Player of the Year, Emily Mehr, while Fragodt was named to the seven-person honorable mention team.

Fragodt, a junior forward, started all 25 games, was first on the team in rebounds (10.4 per game), minutes played (29.6 per game), and blocks (2.3 per game), was second in steals, third in assists, and fifth in scoring (5.6 per game).

Auch, a sophomore and the first post player off the bench, was third in rebounding (5.0 per game), fourth in steals, fourth in scoring (6.2 per game), and first in field-goal shooting percentage (52.8%).

UM-Morris won 16-straight regular-season games to finish the regular-season 18-7 overall and 14-0 in the UMAC, but then was upset by the fourth-seeded College of St. Scholastica in the semifinal round of the UMAC tournament.
