Girls Golf Roundup: Litchfield continues to lead Wright County

MEDINA — Litchfield gave up seven strokes on its season lead to Waconia on the Baker Golf Club front 9 on Monday but retains a sizeable lead (65) strokes over the Wildcats in the Wright County Conference standings.

Kennedy Sommerfeld of Litchfield and Megan Rachey of Waconia tied for medalist with 43s.

Waconia posted a 189 and second-place Litchfield a 196.

Lauren Dietz, shooting a 47, led New London-Spicer to a 208 score, part of a three-way tie for fourth place.

Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart finished third at the conference tournament Monday, led by conference MVP Carly Schmalz, who shot a 93. Schmalz finished one stroke behind medalist Courtney Nelson of Cedar Mountain/Comfrey.

At Marshall

Baillee Hauser of MACCRAY shot 91 to place second in the Camden Conference championship Monday.

Dawson-Boyd shot 446 to place third behind Minneota (400) and Canby (409).

Minneota won the conference crown with 24 points. Dawson-Boyd was third with 18 points and MACCRAY won a tiebreaker for fifth with eight points.
