WILLMAR - A three-run fifth helped Alexandria hold off Willmar 6-4 on Thursday in a Central Lakes Conference game Thursday at Bill Taunton Stadium.

Alexandria's Blake Hoelscher had three hits, including a triple and a double, and he drove in three runs.

Willmar Andy Schultz was 3-for-4 and Jon Broman was 2-for-4 with two RBIs.

Drey Dirksen was 2-for-3 and scored a run and Brady Bauman pitched well in relief, allowing just a hit and striking out two in two innings.

Willmar plays at Sauk Rapids at 6 p.m. today.

BOLD's Matt Moorse kept his season's WHIP to miniscule levels thanks to a one-hit, two walk performance on the mound against Benson Thursday.

Moorse allowed just one run on one hit from the bump as his Warrior offense contributed heavily to the cause. The Warriors scored seven runs in the second inning thanks to stat-stuffing days from Luke Ryan and Jordan Sagedahl.

RCW put up three crooked innings to cruise past CMCS in Prinsburg Thursday.

Trent Kjersten earned the win from the bump, tossing five innings with six strikeouts. The Jaguar lineup provided plenty of support, though, starting with Jacob Grund who went 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and a pair of runs scored.

Tony and Tyler Froland combined to go 4-for-6 with five RBIs and three runs scored.

CMCS play Tracy-Milroy-Balaton at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Prinsburg.

Paynesville moved to 11-1 despite only recording one hit in a 3-2 win over Eden Valley-Watkins.

The Bulldogs took advantage of three walks and three hit batsmen and Sam Oehrlein knocked in Matthew Leiser on a double in the fifth inning to take the lead for good.

Sam Hopfer was clinical on the mound for the Bulldogs, only running into trouble in a two-run third inning. He struck out five in the win.
