KERKHOVEN — Alex Swenson came around the screen and popped into the corner, taking the pass from Colton Husby. The Dawson-Boyd senior point guard pulled up from behind the arc and found the bottom of the net.

Then, on the next possession, Swenson it all over again—just from the opposite corner.

Seconds later, Romell Horton spotted up in transition from the wing and let go of another triple.

Bang.

In a matter of moments, three consecutive 3-pointers for the Blackjacks broke a tie midway through the second half, with the 9-0 run fueling a 60-49 win for Dawson-Boyd on the road in the West Central Tribune's Game of the Week.

Swenson led all scorers with 18 points, sinking three of the Blackjacks eight 3-pointers on the night.

Jake Lee added three triples of his own to score 13 points and Bentley Boike added 12 points to round out the leaders for D-B, which improved to 2-1 on the season.

Weston Gjerde scored 16 points to lead the Saints.

A back-and-forth first half was capped with the Blackjacks carrying a six-point advantage into the locker room following a Swenson running 3-pointer that he banked in off the glass.

Regan Carlson re-tied the contest at 36-36 five minutes into the second half with a three-point play, but the Blackjacks quickly responded with their 9-0 run.

D-B is back in action next on Thursday as it hosts MACCRAY.
