Willmar cruises to big victory

COLD SPRING — The Willmar girls basketball team took care of business on Tuesday night to earn a 55-21 win over Rocori.

The Cardinals held the Spartans to just 10 first-half points en route to a 24-point halftime lead.

Jordyn Swoboda led all scorers with 13 points and added seven steals for the Cardinals, which improved to 20-2 overall and 11-2 in Central Lakes Conference play.

NLS 70, Mound Westonka 48

New London-Spicer eased to a win as the 10 of the team's 11 players made it into the score sheet against Mound Westonka in a Wright County Conference game on Tuesday.

Shea Oman took control with 16 points, making four 3-pointers. Ashton Engelke also excelled from deep, knocking down three 3-pointers. As a team, the Wildcats scored 36 of its 70 points from distance.

NLS will hit the road to take on Dassel-Cokato Friday.

Annandale posted 27 points on both sides of halftime and provided good team defense to top Litchfield Tuesday night.

Taylor Medvec led all scorers with 21 points for the Cardinals, edging teammate Abby Lillehaug's 17 points.

The Dragons provided a more balanced attack with eight scorers, led by Katelyn Cruze's 11 points.
