WILLMAR — A strong Brainerd team outhit Willmar 6-1 on Tuesday in a Central Lakes Conference match.

While the Cardinals couldn’t match the Warriors firepower, there were several bright spots, according to coach Jim Anderson:

“Amelia Amon [4-singles] played well splitting sets before losing a tough thirdset 6-3. Hannah Hansen [3-singles] played her best varsity match outlasting her opponent [Payge Fitterer] in a three hour battle” 6-7, 6-2, 6-3.

The Cards travel to St. Cloud to play Apollo on Thursday. Brainerd improved to 3-0 in CLC matches and 5-3 overall.
