WILLMAR — The Willmar Cardinals’ tennis team dominated Marshall 6-1, sweeping singles and taking their only loss in three sets in 1-doubles on Monday.

Cayle Hovland, Hannah Hansen, Bailey Hovland and Bergen Vollan all won in straight sets in singles, and the doubles teams of Amelia Amon/Claire Schmitz and Erica Ellingson/Kaylee Chester also won for the Cardinals.

“The Willmar girls battled through strong winds, staying steady with serves and returns, and playing the ball low and in play,” Cardinals’ head coach Jim Anderson said.

Willmar will host Central Lakes-leading St. Cloud Tech today
