Girls soccer: Rancour’s four goals take out Cardinals

HUTCHINSON — Junior Rebecca Rancour scored all four goals for Hutchinson and the Tigers took down the Willmar Cardinals 4-2 on Thursday.

“(Rancour) is a force to be reckoned with,” Willmar head coach Chelsea Brown said. “She moves with the ball really well … she doesn’t stay in one spot.”

Willmar went into the half tied 1-1 after Jenny Jimenez’ goal at 33 minutes.

After a quick goal for each side in the second half, Rancour scored twice in consecutive minutes to put the game away for the Tigers.

“It was the most physical game I think I’ve ever seen,” Brown said. “We really stuck with them tonight. This was one of our section teams, so I’m really looking forward to going into sections if we play as well as we did tonight.”

The Cardinals (1-8-2) host Mankato West on Saturday.
