Willmar skates past Marshall

WILLMAR -- Willmar scored five straight goals before allowing an afterthought score to Marshall in a 5-1 non-conference boys hockey win on Saturday at the Civic Center.

The Cardinals (5-1) scored twice in the first period on goals from Tyler Woltjer and Paul Schrupp, twice more in the second from Grant Schow and Liam Johnston, and Stephen Reynolds scored with 2:48 elapsed in the third to give Willmar a 5-0 advantage.

Aaron Antony scored Marshall's lone goal at the 6:31 mark of the third period.

Schow and Gabe Amon collected two assists each for the Cardinals.

Willmar goalie Keifer Dahle recorded 14 saves.

Willmar is idle until playing in the River Lakes Invitational Dec. 28-30 in Paynesville.
