Boys tennis: SC Tech blanks Cardinals
WILLMAR — The Willmar boys tennis team ran into a stout Central Lakes Conference opponent and fell 7-0 to St. Cloud Tech on Wednesday at the Willmar High School courts.
The Tigers won all seven matches in straight sets.
“We knew this would be an uphill battle,” said Cardinals head coach Jim Anderson. “Tech is a very strong program built on sound mechanics and strategies.”
While the Cardinals struggled, it probably will be for good in the future, Anderson said.
“This was a positive match for our team understanding of the path and hard work we need to put in to be a competitive team in a strong Central Lakes Conference.”
The Cards are scheduled to play a doubleheader today against St. Cloud Apollo and Sartell.
