Molitor to throw out Stingers' first pitch
WILLMAR -- Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Paul Molitor will throw out the first pitch for the Willmar Stingers in their inaugural season opener in the Northwoods League on June 3 at Taunton Stadium.
Molitor played 21 season in the majors, including the Minnesota Twins from 1996-98. He finished his career with 3,319 hits, ninth on the all-time list. He was the World Series Most Valuable Player in 1993 and was selected to seven All-Star Games. He also played for the Milwaukee Brewers and Toronto Blue Jays.
Molitor was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 2004, his first year of eligibility.
