The Willmar WarHawks hit the ice for the first time this season Tuesday afternoon at the Willmar Civic Center.

There were plenty of fans in attendance at the open practice, there to catch the first glimpse of the WarHawks prepping for their second season.

The season opens Sept. 16 with a road game against the Breezy Point North Stars. Willmar starts the season with a seven-game road trip before making their home debut Oct. 14 against the Granite City Lumberjacks, the reigning Silver Cup champions.
