Bass tour back at Green Lake
SPICER -- The Silverado Pro-Am Bass Tour will begin another season with a stop at Green Lake Saturday, June 6.
It is the fourth year the regional fishing tournament will be held in Spicer, and it's also the fourth fishing season that regulations protecting smallmouth and largemouth bass were lifted on Green Lake.
Sacred Heart's John Patock was second in last year's tournament with six bass weighing 20.65 pounds.
The day's activities will start with a live broadcast of "FAN Outdoors" on KFAN-AM 1130 from 6-8 a.m. with host "The Captain" Billy Hildebrand, who is also the tour director.
During the fishing action, there will be boat displays, test drives, product demonstrations and prize drawings for fans.
The Tour pays out more than $28,000 to the top 12 fishing professional-amateur combos at each event.
The Tour will also make stops at the Alexandria Chain of Lakes on July 18, Lake Minnewaska on Aug. 15, and Lake Minnetonka on Sept. 11. The Tournament of Champions will be held Sept. 19.
