Girls Tennis: MACCRAY edges Litchfield 4-3

CLARA CITY — Two wins in doubles and a split in singles allowed MACCRAY to edge Litchfield 4-3 Monday in a non-conference match.

Amber Wieberdink at No. 1 and Jenna Mersbergen at No. 2 won the top two singles slots for MACCRAY. The winning point for the Wolverines was provided by Annie Sandry and Kaylee Christenson at 1-doubles as they outlasted the Litchfield duo of Emily Smith/Kennedy Sommerfeld 6-3, 5-7, 6-3.

The other doubles point for MACCRAY came from Heather Marcus/Belle Brynjulfson at No. 2.

Litchfield’s wins came from Mirim Karre at 3-singles, Laney Huhner at 4-singles and Alexa Desens/Grace Spanos at 3-doubles.
