6AA Girls Basketball: NLS still alive but Litchfield falls in subsection semis
COLLEGEVILLE -- The New London-Spicer girls basketball team won a sluggish matchup against former West Central Conference rival Minnewaska, but the Litchfield Dragons couldn't get its offense going and fell to Eden Valley-Watkins in two Section 6AA-South semifinals games Saturday at St. John's University.
The 22-5 Wildcats were tied with Minnewaska early in the second half but Taylor Thunstedt scored 16 of her game-high 23 points to help NLS pull away for a 46-32 win.
But the Dragons fell behind by 10 points in the first half and couldn't generate much offense in their 52-34 loss to EVW.
NLS and EVW will play for the South title at 6 p.m. Tuesday at SJU.
See Monday's Tribune and this web site for more on the two games.
