Second-half surge powers KMS, 75-63

KERKHOVEN -- Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg went on a 12-0 run in the second half to beat Renville County West 75-63 in Camden North Conference boys basketball Thursday.

The teams played to a 34-34 tie at halftime.

They were neck-and-neck through much of the second half also, but the Fighting Saints (8-2, 11-4) broke RCW's 60-59 lead with 12 straight points to finish off the game.

Cole Berget led four KMS players in double figures with 18 points. Taylor Freetly followed with 17, Adam Miller added 12 and Jake Armstrong had 10.

Dan Knapper scored 18 points to lead the Jaguars (2-6, 3-8). Steve Gens chipped in 16 points.
