Prep Softball: Willmar sinks Flyers with four-run third

LITTLE FALLS -- Chelsey Wierschem had two doubles and drove in two runs and Willmar upended Little Falls 7-5 in a Central Lakes Conference game on Thursday.

Brittney Hastad's RBI single was part of a two-run sixth inning for the Cardinals (2-1, 2-1), which gave them a 7-4 lead.

Willmar was held to five hits, but it took advantage of four Little Falls errors and six walks. The Cardinals didn't commit an error Thursday.

Amanda Croonquist and Sara Kallhoff each had a single for the Cardinals.

Karlee Johnson pitched the first four innings and picked up the win. She allowed four runs on five hits, struck out three and walked two. Hanna Pederson earned the save, with one run allowed on two hits in three innings. She struck out three and walked one.
