Prep Softball: Pedersen's 3 doubles lift KMS past BOLD

OLIVIA -- Nikki Pedersen of Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg doubled three times and Sam Dunn allowed just one run on six hits as the Fighting Saints topped BOLD 4-1 in non-conference softball action Friday.

Pedersen hit two-baggers in the first, third and seventh innings, each driving in one run. Demi Young added a run-scoring single in the third. Briana Baker added two hits for KMS (8-2).

Dunn went the distance for the victory, striking out nine and walking one.

Brittany Dahlk and Taylor Ebnet had two hits each to lead the Warriors (3-2), who have lost their last two games.

The Bulldogs scored eight runs in the second and Jessica Klein hit a two-run home run as part of a five-run fourth.

Taylor Haag, Keely Meagher and Klein had two hits each for Paynesville.

Whitney Woehler pitched all five innings for the win. She allowed three runs on six hits, struck out five and didn't walk a batter.
