BROOTEN -- Miranda Bast had Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa's only hit of the game, but the Jaguars still beat Pierz 5-1 in a Central Minnesota Conference softball game Tuesday.

Bast singled to left field in the first inning to drive in two runs. BBE (7-3, 10-4) scored four in the inning, helped by three walks.

Pierz threatened to score with the bases loaded in the second inning, but Jaguars' pitcher Laura Johnson enticed a popup to first base. Johnson allowed one unearned run on six hits.

Megan Boser had two hits, including a double, to lead Pierz (0-9, 2-11).
