PRINSBURG -- Buffalo Lake-Hector outscored Central Minnesota Christian from the field, but it was the free-throw shooting that helped out the Bluejays as CMCS pulled out a 74-59 non-conference win in boys basketball Monday.

BLH (3-8) scored 56 points from 26-for-69 shooting compared to CMCS' 48 points from the field. The Mustangs were only 3-for-4 from the line, while the Bluejays (3-5) cashed 26 free throws in 43 attempts. The Mustangs were whistled for 28 fouls.

Jordon Daugherty paced a group of four Bluejays that scored in double figures with 21 points. Brett Jouwstra followed with 17, Logan Erickson 15 and Tyler Daugherty 14. The Daughertys were a combined 15-for-16 from the free-throw line in the second half. CMCS was 5-for-16 from the charity stripe in the first half.

BLH guard Isaac Buboltz hit a running three-pointer from midcourt, beating the halftime buzzer and pulling the Mustangs within three-points of the lead, 28-26.

Out of the break, he snuck inside for a two-foot putback to knot the score 28-all. Then the Bluejays began to pull away, going up 46-37 with 13 minutes left.

Madison LaPlante and Ben Maiers led BLH with 14 points each. Tyler Daugherty and Zack Henning pulled down 13 and 12 rebounds, respectively, for the Bluejays.
