Prep baseball: New Life Academy eliminates BOLD in state semis

New Life Academy celebrates after the final out of their Class A state semifinal victory over BOLD on Friday in Chaska.

CHASKA — New Life Academy junior Sam Horner pitched eight innings of two-hit ball, and the Eagles eliminated the BOLD Warriors from the Class A state baseball tournament 3-2 in an extra-inning affair on Friday at Chaska Athletic Park. 

Both BOLD runs came in the sixth on a bases-loaded error by the NLA second baseman. Trent Athmann started and received a no-decision with seven innings pitched. Brett Grund took the loss.
