Legion Baseball: Montevideo topples Granite Falls

GRANITE FALLS — Montevideo pounded out 14 hits and Jordan Thompson pitched a complete game, beating Granite Falls 11-3 on Monday.

Montevideo (7-5) took the lead for good, after being tied 2-2, with a five-run third inning, capped by Zac Enevoldsen’s two-run single.

Enevoldsen, Thompson, Markus Kranz, Austin Hiepler, Bryce Maurice and Logan Knoshal each had two hits, and Jeff Rohloff was 3-for-5.

Thompson struck out two and surrendered one earned run in seven innings.

Austin Vikander was 2-for-4 with a double, and Chase Richter was 1-3 with a double for Granite Falls.

Vikander was the losing pitcher, going three innings and giving up seven runs.

Granite Falls (1-5) next plays today against Minneota at home, and Montevideo hosts Minneota on Monday.
