Legion Baseball Roundup: Orioles soar past Tri-Town

PRINSBURG — Austin Bulthuis and Nick Daugherty had three hits apiece and TJ Stoel tossed seven strong innings to propel Prinsburg past Tri-Town 9-2 Wednesday at City Field.

Brett Busskohl gave the visiting Black Sox a quick 1-0 lead with an RBI single in the first inning, but the Orioles batted around in the bottom half of the frame and got four consecutive RBI hits — Stoel double, Bulthuis single, Daugherty double and Matt Meyer single — to take control.

The four-run first was plenty of offense for Stoel to earn the win. The recent Central Minnesota Christian School grad struck out seven and gave up just one earned run without issuing a walk in a complete-game performance. He also knocked in Grant Hoekstra with two sacrifice flies, one in the second and another in the sixth to cap the scoring.

Busskohl also drove in Tri-Town’s second run on a fielder’s choice in the fifth. Busskohl and Cullen Hoffman had two hits apiece for the Black Sox.
